Trailer Park Thursdays: Not Transformers Edition

I was gonna feature nothing but Transformers related trailers this week but then I saw the Trailer for the new film version of John LeCarre’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and decided there was more important things to feature. So there’s that trailer which will be followed by a trailer for Apollo 18 and we’ll end with something retro. Enjoy!

First up Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. This is looking pretty excellent. Has a really old fashioned feel to it’s tone and how it appears to have been shot. Really looks like one of those old BBC dramas they used to actually be good at making back int eh 70s and 80s.There’s a lot of buzz around Gary Oldman’s performance in this but there generally is around all his films. Even Tiptoes. Also appearing in this film is Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Now here’s Apollo 18 which is another of those found footage type movies. This one is about a secret mission to the Moon where apparently the astronauts aren’t alone. DUN DUN DUNNNN. I wonder if the full film will actually give use some decent views of whatever it is they’re encountering or if, as usual, the alien will be kept just off camera or in blur-o-vision.

Lastly, seeing as I swore off Transformers for this weeks Trailer Park, instead I have gone for G.I. Joe The Movie. This is the home video movie that was released the year after Transformers The Movie which I reviewed yesterday. I’ve never actually seen this but I really feel like I should. Mostly because this trailer makes the film look about 400 times better than that live action film.

So coming up on The Film Dump over the next week will be Transformers Dark Of The Moon tomorrow night, Wall Street, Green Lantern Emerald Knights and Jan Svankmejer’s Alice. The latter of those is quite a special film I’ve been trying to get a copy of for years. Laters yo!
